I would certainly change the screw top top the handlebar. It will lesson the complimentary play the the clutch. Ns did this on mine v star 650.
I have a Vstar 650 Custom, and yep, that"s just exactly how they do the bike. One of two people you find out to just address it, or friend can change the free play in the clutch at the handlebar and also down near where the clutch cable goes into the engine/transmission. That will certainly leave your clutch lever a little floppy, i beg your pardon you have the right to correct v a spring. Look right here for an ext info: http://www.650ccnd.com/clutchspring.htm. There is a kit on ebay that includes everything friend need. Ns did this and also it has helped me immensely.Your other choice is this: http://www.theclevver.com/. It is one aftermarket clutch lever that supposedly fixes the problem. I have not provided it however I"ve heard it works. Those space your finest options, and I expect you uncover something that works for you!
