You are watching: Which heater hose is the inlet

Hi, make the efforts to download a flush kit and they say to reduced the heater inlet hose. Both hoses run type firewall and also both seem to enter the water pump yet they don"t desire me cutting the water pump hose, just the heater INLET hose. Can"t uncover a schematic for that. Any help please? Thanks!Steve

it yes, really wont issue which heater hose you madness into. The flush will certainly still walk everywhere.but im reasoning the peak hose ~ above the fire wall surface is the one pumping into the heater core, the reduced one is the return. 50/50 shot over there lol

Hmm, just trying to perform what the instructions say to do. You"re more than likely right, though. Water flows all the means through for this reason what"s the difference? but just in case there"s a one means valve or other crazy, i do need to ascertain the heater inlet hose. Lock both look choose they run right into the water pump however I"m certain one just goes to the top water jacket. No sure, never ever did this one before.. Any absolute, positively sure diagrams or noþeles on this? Thanks though.
Turbo is the means to go.

Ha! ns just ordered the height one coming out of the firewall and spliced it. Appears to work with the flush, more than likely as Scottiedogg said. However, I have worse difficulties than that through this pig. Just 118k of easy miles (with synthetic oil alters every 6k) and main seal is leaking and the head gasket blew. Currently the starter won"t crank probably because of water in the cylinder. Jeez, what next- locusts???

an initial way to number out which is "in" and "out" is you can turn the heater on, then feeling which hose is hot/not as hot , the name is one is "in", the cooler one is "out", an additional way: the bigger hose is "in", smaller sized hose is "out", hot water expands, together it cools going though the H.E., it contracts.

there is no flow valve to the heater core. It operation coolant year round. So both hoses obtain hot all the time.this idea does work tho, begin with a cold engine, fire that up, hold both hoses, witch ever one gets hot very first is the one the flows right into the core.or take both hoses turn off the fire wall, and also fire the car up, you watch the hose press coolant.

First way to figure out i m sorry is "in" and "out" is you have the right to turn the heater on, then feeling which water tap is hot/not as warm , the hotter one is "in", the cooler one is "out", an additional way: the bigger hose is "in", smaller sized hose is "out", hot water expands, as it cools going though the H.E., it contracts.
