I to be on the savageshooter Forum (link below) and also using the photos my breach block matches the 1938 - 1939 breach block. A guess would be my father bought the rifle in between 1938 & 1940. Ns was born in 1937. Now I can provide my nephew a little much more of the history of this Ranger version 29A..http://www.savageshooters.com/showthread.php?37169-Model-29a-help-needed
I shot mine Ranger 22 yesterday. It was smooth as butter. What a dream come shoot! The only trouble to be 2 FTF, they fired ~ I placed them earlier in the rifle. Cheap ammo i bought in the 1970"s.The age of this rifle is approx. 77 years.
I had two Sav 29s a couple years ago. Male I bought castle from to be going to make a good one out of them. They to be both octagonbarrel and clip magazine models. I gained job done and had to put out $50 because that a magazine. Still have actually some parts, no timber or barrel. Iturned extra barrel down for a Hopkins & Allen solitary shot.
