Replacing the waterpump on my 07ram 5.7 engine.Need to confirm torque and glad to hear any other tips etc. I"m also replacing Tstat rated at 205 and new clutch fan along with new upper/lower rad hoses.I understand the lil bleed valve on the Tstat must be
12 O"clock.Flushed heater core which actually looked good as did the hose flush of the engine that I done while the pump was removed.I"m doing some cleaning of my engine and compartment while access is good to do so.I"ve been unable to pull up the torque needed to install the new pump.So if anyone can share this info I"d appreciate.Thanks-DeWayne
Wow,interesting.Well I can rule out the diesel specs as I have the 5.7 gas hemi. Seeing the high numbers for the 4.7 seems a little high as I put a new waterpump on a 4.7 Durango we once had and of course the design is different and althougth I done the 4.7 by "feel" as I secured the pump I couls see how 43ft lbs would work with that pump.So I"m also wondering if any of the bolts travel into the water jackets which would require sealant.
I dunno, I just found this in the manual and did a "copy and paste". Seems strange that it only listed those two engines. Think it might be a misprint? Maybe I"ll check a couple of other manuals.
